Walter Pajor graduated from Berlin High School in 1955 where he excelled as an athlete in football, baseball and football. Known as “String” by his classmates due to his tall, lanky frame, his shined on the basketball court where he set multiple performance records. He was the only junior selected as the team co-captain.

During his senior season, Pajor broke the individual game scoring record that was previously set in 1949 by Dave Clark, when he scored 32 points against Canton and three week later scoring 34 points against Terryville. Pajor led the team in scoring his senior year with 286 points with the team qualifying for the Class C state tournament. He was only the second Berlin basketball player selected to the New Register All-State Team after Bob Soroka in 1951. Pajor was also a key member of the baseball team as a main pitcher alongside fellow Berlin Hall of Fame member Henry Mora.

Pajor attended Cheshire Academy after graduation where he was a starter and leading scorer on the basketball team and then went on to American International College. After college, he worked at Pratt and Whitney for many years as a process engineer before operating his own businesses, including Center Pain and Hardware; Pajor Painting and Wallpaper; and Pajor Construction and Siding. Prior to retirement, he was a project engineer at Sherwood Industries. Pajor and his wife, Lori, had two sons, Thomas and Gary. Pajor passed away in May of 2013.
