Meagan Guy was a basketball and softball captain as a junior and a senior and a volleyball captain her senior season at Berlin High School. Her leadership was matched by her accomplishments on the field. “She was a varsity starter as a freshman the first second she stepped onto Sage Park,” softball coach Jason Pires said.

Her achievements included posting a career softball batting average of over .400, including .600 her junior All-State season and leading the basketball team in steals (36) and assists (53) in 2007-08.

“Being inducted into this Hall is such a huge honor in the town I grew up in,” said Guy, who was a stellar second baseman and a line-drive, offensive ignitor. “I liked all the sports, but softball was my favorite because that’s what I wanted to concentrate on after high school.”

Her ascension in the field of sports had only started.

The summer after her graduation she started at second base for the national champion AAU team.

Guy followed that by being a three-year starter at shortstop and never missed a game in that time at UMass-Lowell. She’s tied for third in career walks (61) and ranks third in games played (194), fifth in stolen bases (62) and eighth in homers (15).

After graduating, she pursued a career in athletic facilities and events. Armed with a master’s degree in business administration from the University of New Haven, she interned in the Yale athletic department. She went on to be the event and facilities coordinator at the University of North Texas and then the assistant director for facilities operations at UCLA.

She advanced to work for the Dallas Cowboys as the event manager at AT&T Stadium. Her game-day duties include field and locker room access, NFL field policy and media management and the assurance of players’ and coaches’ safety. “To make sure everything goes off without a hitch,” she said.

Her responsibilities don’t end, though, with an NFL game. Whether it’s motor cross, a Taylor Swift concert or another event at AT&T stadium, she oversees the field.

“I saw it when she was a freshman,” Pires said. “Meg has been willing to reach beyond when it may be difficult, to work hard to get what she wants. Her drive to success goes beyond sports.”
