Kory Kevorkian

Athlete

Kory Kevorkian graduated from Berlin High School in 2001 where he played 3 sports. He played baseball in his Freshman and Sophomore years, track and field his Junior and Senior years, and football all four years.

In track and field, he threw the discus and shot put while winning the Northwest Conference Discus Championship his Senior year and qualified for the State Open while making All NWC.

However, it was in football that he excelled. He was a 3-year, twoway starter and as a linebacker led his team in tackles, his Junior and Senior years while being named team Defensive MVP both years. He was named to the NWC and New Britain Herald All Area teams both years, as well as the Hartford Courant AllState team his Senior year. He was a TriCaptain along with Berlin HOF members Mike Laroche and Nate Tarsi on the great 2000 team that went 10-0 during the regular season before losing to Masuk 217 in the State Semifinals finishing the season in the top 10 State rankings. He also was a 4-time NWC Academic honoree.

After graduating from Berlin High, Kory went to Central Connecticut State University where he played football for five years. He played on two NEC Championship teams as a linebacker and fullback while making the NEC Academic Honor Roll each year. He graduated Cum Laude in 2006 with a BS degree in Physical Education.

In 2006 he began his teaching career in New Haven teaching PE at all grade levels while coaching football and baseball at Wilbur Cross High School. He went on to get his Master’s Degree in School Health and a sixth-year degree in Educational Leadership from Southern Connecticut State University while spending 8 years as the Athletic Director at North Branford High School and Regional School District 13.

He is currently a PE and Health teacher at New Milford High School and lives in Woodbury and has two young sons, Graham and Ty.
