
Erica Barnes
Athlete
Erica Barnes graduated from Berlin High School in 2009, where she was a four-year varsity player and letterman for the BHS Girl’s Golf Team. She was All-Academic for four years, All-Conference for three years and All-State her Junior and Senior years. During her career she was regular season Medalist 27 times, Conference Tournament Medalist in 2008 and 2009 and State Championship Runner-Up Medalist in 2008. She received the Coaches Award and MVP Honors in 2008 and 2009 and was named team captain in her Junior and Senior years. She was recognized with All-Herald honors three times, All-Courant honors two times and was a three-time qualifier to the All-New England High School Championship Tournament. Erica was a two-time Women’s Club Champion at Shuttle Meadow Country Club. Additionally, Erica was an Upbeat Team Leader and a member of the National Honor Society.
Erica contributed greatly to the BHS golf team’s successes. Her teams won four consecutive Conference Championships and won a Runner-Up State championship in 2006. Upon graduation, Erica was awarded an academic and golf scholarship to Division I Hofstra University where she was a four-year starting varsity player. In her freshman year she competed in all nine events, leading her team in scoring average and placing 6th out of 55 players at the ECAC Championship.
In 2010, Erica won the prestigious Connecticut Women’s Amateur Championship, becoming the first BHS Athlete to earn such an honor.
Erica currently resides in Norwalk and is an executive for A&E Television where she is Vice President of Sales and Advertising.
