
Cynthia Gozzo Dastoli

Cynthia Gozzo Dastoli graduated from Berlin High in 1990. The following appeared in the Class of 1990 yearbook. “If ever there was, in the Class of 1990, better tribute to the art of sport, it may be seen in the endeavors and the accomplishments of Cynthia Gozzo. She has participated in a total of twelve seasons of sports throughout her four years at Berlin High School. Going from volleyball in the fall, to basketball in the winter, and to softball in the spring has continuous schedule throughout her high school years. Cynthia managed to capture All-Conference and All-State honors in volleyball. It is her untiring dedication to each sport and precision in athletic ability which has allowed her to find excellence in every path she follows.”
In addition to the above accomplishments in volleyball, she won the Ace Award her senior year, was a two-time winner of the Coaches Award, and was captain senior year. In basketball she was captain her senior year, received the Achievement Award, was selected to the NWC All-Conference team as a senior, and participated in CHSCA All-Star game that year. In softball Cynthia was a member of the 1987, 1988, and 1999 State Championship teams and was a NWC All-Conference selection her senior year.
After graduation Cynthia went on to pursue a degree in Education earning a Bachelor’s Degree from Central Com1ecticut State University and a Master’s Degree from the University of New Haven. She has been a teacher in the City of New Britain since 2000, earning the Teacher of the Year Award at Northend Elementary School in 2008. Cynthia resides in Berlin with her husband Vin and children Vincenzo and Salvatore.
